If you are beginning your search for an electric sit-to-stand desk, the number of choices can be overwhelming. For the smart shopper who looks hard at a purchase before committing, we have video comparison reviews of our MojoDesk standing desk and other available options. Below are links to full reviews as well as our 2021 comparison chart that lines up specifications, price, and features of other brands side-by-side.
If you are considering a standing desk, these video reviews and comparison charts will help you decide what options are right for you. Among other features, one of the key differences of MojoDesk is the quality and stability of our adjustable height frame. All MojoDesk models come standard with a commercial-grade frame that lifts over 250lbs. Unlike others, our bases are all dual-motor with 3-stage telescoping T-style legs and include an LED hand control with 4 height presets at no upcharge.
But before we get into more detail, here's a 60 second video about the importance of a sit-to-stand desk as part of overall work wellness.
Both MojoDesk and Vari (previously VariDesk) offer a full sit-to-stand desk that meets BIFMA stability requirements, comes with a 5-year warranty, and offers free shipping to the lower 48--but the similarities end there. If you’re looking for stability and safety up to 300 pounds (vs. 200-250 with the other guys), MojoDesk is the clear choice.
The devil is in the details when it comes to building a comfortable workspace--one where you'll likely spend endless hours. Don’t underestimate the importance of choosing the right features, like a desk shape that suits your work environment and contoured edges for wrist comfort.
Our “apples-to-apples” comparison for this review is between the Evodesk Ergo Edge electric standing desk and MojoDesk—and the findings may surprise you. Let's start with issues of safety and health: two critical factors when researching a high-quality gaming desk.
There are many low-cost standing gaming desks and the Respawn RSP-3000 is one of them. But how does it stack up for value vs. what you get with the more expensive Mojo Gamer Pro?
Ergonomic comfort during long sessions of work or gaming is top priority. In addition to the damage that passionate keyboard users inflict upon the sit-to-stand desk itself, gamers and workers are also punishing their own hands and wrists. Both comfort and stability were key factors in comparing MojoDesk with the IKEA Bekant standing desk side-by-side.
Looking for the most environmentally friendly stand-up desk? Look for a workstation option that is fully Greenguard-certified to reduce VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions into the air. Found in many everyday products and processes, VOCs can put your health at risk and create air pollution.
Whether you’re 4’11” or 6’6”, size matters when it comes to choosing the right standing desk. MojoDesk has the greatest height-adjustability on the market today, to deliver the best in health and comfort for users of all shapes and sizes. From reducing and preventing back problems to improving circulation, alternately sitting and standing improves both health and productivity.
MojoDesk and the iMovR Lander have several similarities, including a large adjustable range, compliance with national ergonomic standards and free shipping.
The areas where iMovR comes up short—namely environmental compliance, tabletop design return policy and price—can be significant concerns for gamers and desk jockeys on a budget.
Besides VertDesk only available in one shape - rectangular - the parent company of VertDesk does not actually manufacture the VertDesk itself, instead working with a U.S.-based OEM manufacturer. In contrast, MojoDesk has a large variety of shape options and made and shipped from our company headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
Note: All specifications sourced from competitor website specification pages as of January, 2020. Since that time, Varidesk (now Vari) has changed their ProDesk in the chart below in both specs, pricing, and name. The price below on the cart and specs are being updated. The list price of $695 is for the 48x30 Vari ProDesk which has now been replaced with the 48x30 Vari Electric Standing Desk at $550. We will have an updated review soon.

Shopping for a new standing desk? If so, you may be comparing the MojoDesk electric sit-to-stand desk to Varidesk’s full electric desk model, the ProDesk Electric, both found on "best standing desks of 2020" lists. This is a significant investment in your health and productivity, so take your time deciding on the best desk for you.
To ease the way, we’ve tested the two models side-by-side to provide you with an apples-to-apples comparison.

The adjustable height of the MojoDesk standing desk spans from 24” to 51” to deliver comfort for users ranging in height from 4’11” and 6’6”. Also provided: four (4) presets to accommodate both sitting and standing positions for two separate people.
Varidesk, on the other hand, has a smaller range of adjustability—25.5” to 50.5—to accommodate users between 5’2” and 6’4.” Varidesk has just three (3) programmable presets.
Another key to your working comfort? MojoDesk features beveled front edges on all desk models so forearms and wrists rest at the correct ergonomic position while typing.
While the Varidesk ProDesk is available in just two (2) rectangular options, the 48-inch and the 60-inch, MojoDesk comes in 48, 60, and 72-inch rectangular cubicle and rectangular Organic Curve, which is our rectangular adjustable height desk with a natural, curved shape on the sides and back. In addition, our 72-inch desk is available in an L-shaped corner desk model.

All MojoDesk designs meet BIFMA standards and are independently tested and verified for stability and safety up to 300 pounds of pressure. By comparison, Varidesk is rated for 200 pounds for its 48-inch version and 250 pounds for the 60-inch version. (Note: Varidesk offers just two desk sizes.)
With MojoDesk you can choose between a black or gray adjustable frame, while Varidesk offers just one option, gray.
While MojoDesk requires no crossbar on any of our models, many of MojoDesk’s competitors require crossbars to meet BIFMA standards and limit bounce and shake. This is less than optimum as the presence of a crossbar also limits leg space, movement and space for under-desk storage.
Varidesk, in particular, comes with a crossbar that can only be installed by hammering the crossbar into the leg brackets using a provided rubber mallet. While the rubber mallet is intended to provide low-maintenance assembly, the daily height adjustments you make to the desk will continually move past the red marker noted in the instructions. When this happens, the desk is not stable, and the crossbar needs to be hammered down again. Note: bolts would provide more stability.

Although both the MojoDesk and Varidesk models meet BIFMA standards and are Greenguard certified, Varidesk is only Greenguard Certified for the work surface, while MojoDesk is Greenguard certified from top to bottom.
Every MojoDesk is ergonomically designed, which means it helps improve comfort, increase energy levels and boost productivity. Not only is MojoDesk built to comply with ANSI-HFES 100-2007 National Ergonomic Standards, our founder, Dave Carson, helped create the standards.
When evaluating the ergonomics of a desk, always consider these factors:
All MojoDesk models incorporate a tip prevention sensor to automatically halt movement to prevent damage and injury should any objects be blocking its trajectory.
